Description

Macdonald Hotels, the British hospitality company has announced plans to cut up 1,800 jobs in all areas of the business to compensate for the loss of revenue caused by the COVID-19 crisis.

A representative of the company said there was 'no realistic prospect' of normal trading in the coming months and the job cuts were necessary to ensure the sustainability of the business. Scotland’s First Minister said that the Scottish Government had offered support to Macdonald Hotels through its Partnership Action for Continuing Employment (PACE) initiative.

Macdonald Hotels owns a chain of 31 luxury hotels across the UK and employs about 2,200 people.
