Description

The footwear retailer Scarpe&Scarpe announced the start of a collective dismissal procedure for 120 workers due to the the closure of 16 stores.

The timing is still to be defined given the blocking of collective redundancies until 17 August set by the government within the bulk of measures undertaken for limiting the economic and social impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The trade unions stressed that no useful information was provided by the company to understand its real economic and financial situation, and no industrial plan was presented to employees and their representatives. The trade unions proclaimed the state of industrial action, and asked for an intervention of the Ministry of Economic Development to start a serious confrontation on an industrial plan and on employment guarantees.
