Description
An amusement park, Wicksteed Park located in Kettering in Northampstonshire has been placed into administration resulting in the loss of 115 jobs, comprised of 48 full-time and 67 part-time and other jobs. The company has gone into administration due to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic. The park, owned by the Wicksteed Charitable Trust, opened almost a century ago, making it one of the oldest theme parks in the United Kingdom. The costs of running the business were high and if it was to re-open after shutdown restrictions were relaxed, the costs of implementing social distancing measures and reduced footfall wouldn' t have been financially viable.
