As announced on 27 June 2020, the German clothing manufacturer Leineweber plans to cut between 120 and 140 jobs at Herford due to internal restructuring. The job reduction comes as a consequence of the decline in sales (22%) caused by the COVID-19 crisis. It will affect employees in all areas of the company. According to Leineweber, job cuts will take place imminently. However, information on an exact timeframe and a social plan are not available.
Leineweber has 700 employees at its headquarter in Herford.
