Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
The Greek Hellenic Telecommunications Organisation (OTE telecom) will start two new voluntary redundancy programmes from the end of May 2020. The first programme targetsĀ 230 workers near to retirement (a large number of them had registered in the previous voluntary redundancy programme of 2019) and the second programme refers to another 200 workers (at least 40 years old and having plus 10 years of service in the organization). The second programme will offer an attractive package to the workers to leave their jobs. The packages will range from 20 to 48 monthly salaries, based on the employee's years of service at the company. The two programmes will cost EUR 55mn (USD 63.44mn) and will cover employees across different subsidiaries and departments.
