European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
Gregory Distribution, the British distribution, storage and logistics company has announced that it is cutting 100 jobs across a number of its sites across the UK.
The company’s managing director said that it was necessary to review the business because there was a major reduction in demand for the company’s services in the wake of the COVID-19 crisis.
It is the second time that the company, in 2020, has to reduce its workforce. This job cuts come after the 50 redundancies made in February.
Gregory Distribution has a long history: it was founded in 1919 in Devon, south west England with a single Ford Model T truck. Currently it has over 750 vehicles and 36 logistics hubs across the UK and it employs 2,700 people.
