Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
The Bulgarian division of the cyber protection solutions IT company Acronisannounced they will quadruple the number of its Sofia staff by the end of 2021. During the past year and a half the staff grew from 20 to 200 employees. The Bulgarian division of Acronis is expected to become the largest worldwide R&D centre. The plans are to have some 400 employees by the end of 2020 and 1,000 employees by the end of 2021.
The Bulgarian division of the company was established when in 2018 the Switzerland-based Acronis AG acquired 100% of the Bulgarian T-Soft EOOD and renamed the company to Acronis Bulgaria EOOD. Acronis was founded in Singapore in 2003 and incorporated in Switzerland in 2008. Acronis has more than 1,500 employees in 33 locations in 18 countries. The company services more than 5.5 million consumers and 500,000 businesses.
