Description

The Bigard Group, France's leading meat company, has announced the recruitment of 650 people on permanent contracts by the end of the year despite difficult economic and social context. Bigard plans to take on 150 work-study apprentices as of September, as well as 500 other people, also on permanent contracts, between now and the end of the year, mainly in production operator jobs. The company has little employees' turnover, but has to cope with between 200 and 300 retirements every year. As this industry requires a strong know-how, for example training a boner takes between two and three years, Bigard don't want to have a blank year with repercussions on 2022 or 2023. These new hires will take place in all 55 establishments, including 28 slaughterhouses, that the group has in France. A former job creation was recorded in the ERM Database with 300 job creations in 2007.
