Description
Fraport Slovenija, which manages the Slovenian airport Brnik in the vicinity of Ljubljana, announces that it will cut 120 jobs. The sharp decline of air traffic due to COVID-19 pandemic is the main reason for the significant reduction of the workforce. The company started to negotiate with three trade unions that oppose to dismissals claiming that government measures (the temporary lay-off and short-time scheme) could sufficiently help the company to overcome the crisis. On top of that, they claim that continued investment into passenger terminal proves that the company does not lack financial resources. The operator now employs 475 persons, so the reduction of the workforce will affect a quarter of the entire staff.
