Description

Saab Kockums, a Swedish-based producer of naval vehicles for maritime operations, has announced its plan to cut up to 145 jobs.

The redundant workers should be 45 permanent employees and approximately 100 consultants. Most of these dismissals will take place in Malmö, where approximately 30 employees and up to 70 consultants will lose their jobs.

According to the company, these internal restructuring is necessary as Saab Kockums is shifting its business activity from development to production. More in detail, Saab Kockums has recently completed the development-intensive phase of large programs, encompassing submarines and vessels, and the production requires less workforce than the former stage.

Saab Kockums is an affiliate of Saab, a Swedish company that produces a wide range of services and products for military defence and civil security since 1937.
