Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
On 4 March 2020, the Danish telecom operator TDC confirmed, that its subsidiary Nuuday will lay off 185 out of it 4500 employees as part of an internal reorganisation. The company will cut the number of management teams from five to three; the work will be distributed among 200 teams with 10 employees in each team. The workers made redundant areĀ informed later this month and are offered further training. Furthermore, TDC will try to find for them other jobs within the group.
Nuuday is one half of the TDC Group, which sells broadband, television and telephony to consumers and businesses. Nuuday among other things comprises the companies YouSee, Telmore, Fullrate, Hiper, TDC Erhverv and Blockbuster.
