Description

Refresco UK, the British subsidiary of the Netherlands-based global drinks manufacturer, has announced plans to close its production plant in Wrexham, North Wales, putting 147 jobs at risk of redundancy.

The director of the company declared that the plan had not been caused by the COVID-19 outbreak. Nevertheless, the pandemic has further reduced the demand for Refresco's products. Consultations with affected workers and their representatives are already underway, while the company informed to be available to support the dismissed workers during the pandemic-related crisis.

Refresco is the largest drinks producer and packer in the UK, specialised in juices, carbonated soft drinks, mineral waters and ‘ready-to-drink’ alcohol. The company has seven production sites across the country.
