Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
The Polish textile company Polontex will cut 70 jobs throughout a collective dismissal programme at the production facility in Częstochowa. It implies that the workforce at the factory will be reduced by about 17%; currently, there work about 400 people. The restructuring is related to the COVID-19 pandemic. The restructuring was registered by the company in the local employment agency in Częstochowa.
Polontex has been operating since 1990. The company specialises in the production of a wide range of fabrics, including decorative knitted fabrics (traditional curtains and yarns), technical knitted fabrics and clothing fabrics.
