Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
The Polish producer of refrigeration equipment JBG-2 will cut up to 205 positions throughout a collective dismissal programme at its two production facilities in Warszowice and Żory by the end of April 2020. The programme will affect both administrative and production staff. The source reports that the redundant workers will receive severance pay. The restructuring is motivated the fall in demand related to the COVID-19 pandemic.
JBG-2 has been operating in Poland since 1989; currently, the company employs 730 people.
