Description
Air New Zealand, the national airline of New Zealand, has announced that it will close its cabin crew base in London, cutting 130 flight attendant jobs.
The airline had planned to close its base in October 2020. However, it brought the decision forward in response to the Covid-19 outbreak and the drop-in demand for air travel.
A representative of the airline said that having made the difficult decision to close the base, its priority is supporting the affected staff, working with their unions.
Air New Zealand is a global airline network providing passenger and cargo services and moving about 17 million passengers a year.
