Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Morrison’s, the UK-based supermarket chain, has announced that it is creating 1,000 staff and 2,500 pickers and drivers positions in the company’s distribution centres.
The company plans are to expand its home delivery service in response to the Covid-19 pandemic. The Chief Executive Officer said that Morrison’s was determined to help customers and support and protect staff at this difficult time and added that the new jobs will be offered to those people whose jobs are impacted by the Covid-19. The positions going to be created are both temporary and permanent, and the recruitment drive is already underway.
