Description

The Budapest airport service firm Malév GH confirmed that the company is dismissing 65 employees or 15% of its total workforce in March 2020. According to the company's representative, this measure is a response to the drastic reduction in the number of flights due to the outbreak of COVID-19 epidemic and global travel restrictions. The restructuring will impact probationary employees, agency and student workers.

The state-owned company expects to lay off further employees involved in passenger and ramp services from 1 April 2020. Currently, there is no official information about this resolution.

Earlier this month, the press suggested a much more drastic workforce cut, which has been denied by the company.
